55 Cancri e 'නිර ලෝකය'

55 Cancri e යනු පෘථිවියේ සිට ආලෝක වර්ෂ 41ක් පමණ දුරින් සූර්යයා වැනි තාරකාවක් වටා කක්ෂගත වන සුපිරි-පෘථිවි බාහිර ග්‍රහලෝකයකි.

මෙම සිත්ගන්නා වස්තුව පෘථිවියට වඩා 8 ගුණයකින් විශාල පාෂාණමය ලෝකයක් බව සැලකේ. 55 Cancri e එහි තාරකාවට ඉතා ආසන්නව පිහිටා ඇති අතර එහි මතුපිට ලාවා විල් වලින් වැසී ඇත.

මෙම අමුතු 'නිර ලෝකය' ඝන හුස්ම හිර කරන වායුගෝලයක් ඇති බව ද සැලකේ.

55 Cancri e is a super-Earth exoplanet that orbits a Sun-like star roughly 41 light years from Earth.

It's thought that this interesting object is a rocky world around 8 times more massive than Earth. 55 Cancri e is located so close to its star that its surface is covered in lakes of lava.

This bizarre 'Hell World' is also thought to have a thick stifling atmosphere.
